Shop fabric, zippers, interfacing, stabilizer and sewing tools separately.

Before you choose fabric: Woven interfacing is generally not required for vinyl, cork or waterproof canvas. It can help stabilize faux leather, faux suede or vinyl with subtle one-way stretch.

01   Fabrics

Exterior

Approximately 1 yd. (100 cm) of exterior fabric.

Lining

Approximately 1 yd. (100 cm) of lining fabric.

02   Interfacing & Stabilizer

  • Lightweight woven fusible interfacing: Approximately 1–2 yd. (100–200 cm) of woven fusible interfacing. Generally not required for vinyl, cork or waterproof canvas; it can help stabilize faux leather, faux suede or vinyl with subtle one-way stretch.
  • Lightweight stabilizer: Approximately 1/2 yd. (50 cm), such as Decovil Light.

03   Hardware

  • 4 × 1" (25 mm) Rectangle Rings
  • 16 Rivets or Chicago screws. Choose 6–7 mm posts for thinner fabrics or 8–9 mm posts for thicker fabrics.
  • 1 Bag Tag (optional)
  • 4 × 1" (25 mm) Strap Ends (optional but recommended)

04   Zippers & Pulls

Shop zipper tape and pulls.

  • Recessed main zipper: 15" (38.1 cm) of #5 tape + 1 pull
  • Front exterior overlay pocket: 9.5" (24.1 cm) of #5 tape + 1 pull
  • Back exterior overlay pocket: 9.5" (24.1 cm) of #5 tape + 1 pull. Omit if using strap anchors.
  • Lining zipper pocket: 9.5" (24.1 cm) of #3 or #5 tape + 1 pull
