Shop Sun & Run Tote Supplies

Shop mesh, canvas, webbing, zipper tape and tools for your version.

Before you choose fabric: Mesh keeps the tote breathable and lightweight. You can use waterproof or water-resistant canvas instead. No interfacing or stabilizer is needed. Fabric amounts are estimates and may vary with prints, fabric width, alterations and cutting layout.

01   Market Tote Fabrics

• Mesh & canvas: 1 roll of Vinyl Bag Mesh (18" × 36" / 46 × 91 cm) and 2 rolls of waterproof or water-resistant canvas (18" × 58" / 46 × 147 cm each). One printed canvas roll can be used for the exterior and one solid roll for the lining.
• Canvas only: 3 rolls of waterproof or water-resistant canvas (18" × 58" / 46 × 147 cm each). One printed roll can be used for the exterior, one solid roll for the lining and a third roll for the lining zipper pocket.

02   Beach Bag Fabrics

• Mesh & canvas: 2 rolls of Vinyl Bag Mesh (18" × 36" / 46 × 91 cm each) and 2 rolls of waterproof or water-resistant canvas (18" × 58" / 46 × 147 cm each). One printed canvas roll can be used for the exterior and one solid roll for the lining.
• Canvas only: 3 rolls of waterproof or water-resistant canvas (18" × 58" / 46 × 147 cm each). One printed roll can be used for the front and back panels and slip pockets, with two solid rolls for the remaining pieces.

03   Zipper & Binding

• Lining zipper pocket: 7 1/2" (19 cm) of #3 or #5 zipper tape + 1 matching zipper pull.
• Binding: Approximately 2 yd. (200 cm) of 1" wide waterproof or water-resistant canvas binding, cut from canvas.

04   Handles

• Market Tote: Approximately 2 1/2 yd. (230 cm) of 1 1/2" (3.8 cm) wide webbing.
• Beach Bag: Approximately 3 yd. (300 cm) of 1 1/2" (3.8 cm) wide webbing.
• Extra canvas is needed if making your own handles instead of using webbing.

05   Sewing Tools & Supplies

• 1/8" or 1/4" (3–6 mm) Double-Sided Tape
• Air Erasable Pen and/or a silver pen for dark mesh
• Craft Brayer (optional; helps create crisp folded edges)
• Lighter for sealing webbing
• Stiletto / Seam Ripper
• Rotary Cutter and Scissors
• Grid Ruler / Cutting Mat
• Quilting Clips / Vinyl Clips
